Good day, fellow Alchemists:
A phrase that is often thrown around nowadays is new age. Normally, it is a reference to a type of thinking that is associated with a broad range of spiritual topics. Anything to do with crystals, chakras, auras, the law of attraction, or yoga ends up falling into the new age category and will sadly often be characterized as a pseudo-religion.
However, its origin is actually related to the astrological changes that have been going on in the last couple hundred years or so. That change is the commencement of the Age of Aquarius.
You see Alchemist, astrologers have the ability to, not only accurately predict the effects of astronomical bodies on individuals, but to determine the effect they will have on civilization as a whole. The collective-unconscious of the planet is equally affected by cosmic events, and many of those events can dictate the overall zeitgeist of a particular era. The previous phase was the Age of Pisces, which we have been slowly progressing away from and into Aquarius. Each phase is thought to last around 2,150 years and transition in the opposite direction of the 12 zodiac signs. The usual rotation begins with Aries and ends with Pisces, but when determining the current age, astrologers begin with Pisces and end with Aries.
Much of the minor details relating to the accurate measurement of the current age, such as when it actually begins and ends, is often debated amongst astrologers. What we do know for sure is that the effects of Aquarian age have already begun since before the 20th century. Aquarian energy has much to do with the discovery of electricity and advancements in technology. It is even credited with jumpstarting the industrial revolution. (Pun intended) It is believed that Aquarian energy is also related to revolutions in general and the desire for equality and freedom.
The times we currently live in are an amalgamation of all the Aquarian energy that has been slowly surging forth into our reality in order to create drastic changes to our society. We may see many more events in our lifetime that may shock and confuse us while we transition into an Aquarian mindset. All that is happening is meant to happen. We are leaving an old world behind and what lies ahead of us may be brighter and more amazing than we can imagine.
